Today, at Explora Natura, we design and guide Environmental education activities, nature tourism and bird watching in the Subbética region and other natural spaces.
The beginnings: a child looking at the sky
That child is today Antonio Pestana: ornithologist, nature photographer, science communicator and director of operations at Explora Natura.
A person who has spent more hours in the mountains than in any office, who has learned to read the landscape like someone reading an old book, and who has made observing—slowly and respectfully—his way of being in the world.

Antonio Pestana
An ornithologist since childhood, an award-winning nature photographer, and an expert in landscape interpretation, he has spent decades exploring the mountains of Andalusia and leading groups on educational and wildlife observation trips.
She regularly works with schools, designing wildlife observation activities adapted for primary and secondary school students. She also collaborates with companies and associations on birdwatching tours, teaches nature photography courses, and participates in the design of natural areas.
A career built on projects, education, and conservation
From a very young age he has directed nature programs, educational projects and conservation actions that have brought the richness of Iberian fauna closer to thousands of people.
His ever-attentive and curious gaze has not only focused on birds and mammals, but also on stories, customs, and traditions, which he has compiled in several books published by Tundra Publishing, where popular culture and natural heritage are combined in a single narrative.
